This is one such news item.
Yes, Farrah Abraham, star of MTV's 16 & Pregnant, as well as the chart-topping motion pictures Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom and its unforgettable sequel Farrah 2: Backdoor and More, is officially on the ballot in Austin, Texas for District 5 City Councilperson.
That's right, the woman who became famous for reasons just half a hair above those of the "catch me outside girl," and who would go on to spew shameless lies all over the place about how her aforementioned cinematic outings were "private tapes" she'd made for her own future self to Daniel-San off to or something, all while her co-star, James Deen, completely dismantled these claims by matter-of-factly informing any and all who asked that he'd been hired to shoot those tapes with her for release by the Vivid Entertainment corporation ... is now asking to be entrusted with the interests of the fine people of Austin District 5.
And what do you suppose her campaign—which she officially launched on Tuesday with a Facebook post—already appears to be riddled with? You guessed it: LIES! And not just little innocent ones. No, ones that are, but of course, both blatant and easily debunked.
As a matter of fact, hysterically, the entire conceit that Ms. Abraham set out to seek a seat on the Austin City Council is itself nothing but one big, fat lie.
You see, back in January, Farrah announced that she was running for Austin MAYOR. But she quickly found out—live on TMZ, in fact—that there is no mayoral race happening in Austin until 2028. Here's the spectacular video of that happening:
So now, just over five months later, she's switched her sights to the City Council ... EXCEPT she's claiming that's what she wanted to run for all along.
I'm not even making this up. Here are a few of the very first "facts" posted on her campaign site:
- "The confusion regarding the 'Mayor' versus 'District 5' seat stemmed directly from clerical processing at City Hall. Despite Farrah’s team submitting documents three separate times to ensure accuracy, the City approved and published documents for an incorrect election cycle."
- "Farrah proactively challenged the City’s error. Because the City of Austin does not conduct candidate interviews or provide immediate verbal feedback during the filing process, candidates are often at the mercy of how the City Clerk’s office inputs data."
- "Once the City recognized the administrative misalignment, Farrah’s candidacy was correctly solidified for District 5 City Council (2026)—the seat she is qualified for and ready to win."
All of this preceded by my favorite line of all:
"If City Hall can't get a filing right, how can we trust them with our taxes? Farrah is running to fix that broken system."
I'm sure there's plenty more to dig into, but I'll just say this: I really, truly hope Farrah somehow incorporates the trophies she recently acquired from us into her campaign—and by "us" I mean AVN, and by "acquired" I mean purchased.
Don't misunderstand—I'm not insinuating anything untoward here. Like many do, she purchased duplicate trophies for awards that were legitimately won; specifically, she bought duplicates of the 2014 AVN Award for Best Marketing Campaign - Individual Project (which went to Vivid for Farrah Superstar) and the 2015 "O" Award for Outstanding Non-Powered Product (which went to Topco Sales for Farrah's Grip-On Stroker).
