A couple weeks back, I was feeling like Taco Bell for dinner, as I've been on a bit of a Taco Bell kick lately. In fact, let's explore that just a minute...
As you may or may not recall, for some reason during COVID, Taco Bell completely gutted its menu of lots and lots of the best items it had to offer. I believe this was largely due to supply chain issues, but what do I know, I'm no economist. Doesn't matter.
What does matter is that one of the things to go during that bleak period was my number-one favorite Taco Bell dish ever created, the Enchirito.
If you have not experienced the pure bliss that is the Enchirito, let me break it down for you: it's essentially a miniature beef burrito smothered in cheese and yummy, yummy red enchilada sauce. Enchirito. Get it? Yeah you do.
So there I am, pulling up to my local Taco Bell, and I'm thinking to myself, "I like that Taco Bell has been bringing back a lot of cool stuff, like the Mexican Pizza and .... well I don't know, I'm sure there's been other cool stuff. But you know what would really rock my socks? Is if they brought back the motherfuckin' Enchirito. I would give my left fucking nut for a goddamn Enchirito."
And then I pull into the parking spot, and I look up, and what to my wondering eyes should I see? A big, fat sign in the window that reads: "Back for a limited time: Enchirito."
(OK, it probably didn't say those exact words, but I was too frickin' excited to commit it to memory.)
It was like something out of a movie. The clouds parted, the sun beamed down on my hungry face, and I knew I had arrived at Valhalla.
Listen, I know everybody has been excited about the resurrected McDonald's Fried Apple Pies (myself included), but honestly, this is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for me. Get one while you can.
